Chiefs add former Chargers, Ravens safety with 3-year deal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - On the same day the Chiefs saw three defensive backs head elsewhere in free agency -- including safety Bryan Cook -- Kansas City also added a new safety.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs have signed former Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens safety Alohi Gilman to a three-year deal.

The deal is reportedly worth $24.75 million and includes $15 million in guarantees.

Gilman played the first six seasons of his career with the Chargers and was traded by Los Angeles to Baltimore ahead of the trade deadline last season.

He was a sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In 85 career games, he has 5 interceptions and 320 tackles. He’s started 51 of those career 85 regular season games.
