Report: Patriots Fill Offensive Line Need With Splash Signing Of Former Rival

The New England Patriots addressed their biggest need on Monday.

New England agreed to terms on a three-year deal with offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Vera-Tucker is perhaps the greatest example of the greatest ability being availability, as he has missed nearly as many games (42) as he has appeared in (43) since being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft -- but man oh man, he sure looks the part when healthy.

Vera-Tucker has appeared in double-digit games just twice, but in both instances graded out among the very best at his position -- 77.7 in 2024; 72.5 in 2021 -- according to Pro Football Focus. The Patriots are obviously banking on the upside, as he is slated to slot in between Will Campbell and Jared Wilson.
