Manchester United have the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer window opens up

Manchester United are interested in Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, according to NT VascaĆnos (via Sport Witness). Juventus have also been linked with a move for the player this summer. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in June 2030 meaning he still has plenty of time left.

If United signed Santos from Chelsea, he would give them more competition and depth in midfield. At the age of 21, he has potential to get better in the future. He could turn out to be a shrewd long-term addition by the North West giants if they managed to snap him up.

Santos, who is a Brazil international with four caps to his name, rose up through the academy at Vasco da Gama. He was a regular for them at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team. The Rio de Janeiro-born man played 49 times for their first-team.

Chelsea lured him away from South America back in 2023 and he has since been loaned out to Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg to get some experience. He was a hit with the latter last term in Ligue 1 under Liam Rosenior and made 34 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with 11 goals. The prospect has since featured on 35 occasions for the Blues this term since his return to London.

Chelsea would have a decision to make if a decent offer came in for Santos from United. Following his transfer to England, South American football expert Tim Vickery told Sky Sports: "He's a strong, box-to-box midfielder - I don't think Vasco would have been promoted without him.

"But it's a big step up. He's not a player who will be ready for Premier League football yet. He's only 18 - this is one for the future. Maybe a loan move is on the cards for him but there is certainly promise as a box-to-box midfielder who has a goal in him."
