Liverpool are among the clubs who have been linked with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

Liverpool’s chances of a potential swoop for Yan Diomande may hinge on Red Bull Leipzig’s season finale.

Diomande has enjoyed a prolific maiden campaign at Leipzig since arriving from CD Leganes. Despite being aged 19, he has fired 11 goals and recorded seven assists in 27 appearances.

The Ivory Coast international’s performances have caught the eye of several top European clubs, with Liverpool linked ahead of the summer transfer window. The Reds are likely to look at improving their winger options in the summer transfer window, with Mo Salah’s form dropping this season and there continues to be speculation around a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo’s output has dipped and Federico Chiesa is expected to move on to pastures new, having been a bit-part player since his August 2024 arrival.

Leipzig are a club frequently open to doing business, with Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita from the German side in recent years.

Die Roten Bullen are fifth in the Bundesliga and they failed to qualify for Europe last term. Being out of the Champions League would have left a void in their balance sheet and according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Phillip Hinze, Leipzig must general around £85 million in player sales.

But if the Saxony outfit miss out on Champions League qualification again, it is suggested that two high-profile departures will be required. Posting on X, Hinze said: “Sky Info: RB Leipzig must generate more than 100 million € in revenue from player transfers again, independent of the Champions League. Clear directive from Red Bull.

“If they qualify for the Champions League, one top sale (Diomande/Lukeba category) + smaller sales will suffice. In the event of potentially missing out on the premier competition, internally they are planning for two top departures.

“Important: The over 40 million € that will flow via the mandatory purchase for Lois Openda (if Juve finishes at least 10th) does NOT count toward it. Since it's a very realistically occurring purchase obligation, the Openda deal counts toward last summer.”
