Former Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is on the move once again. It was announced on March 9th that the nine-year veteran signal caller will be signing atwo-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. Trubisky was the Bears’ second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and across51 games played with the organization, he racked up 10,609 passing yards, 1,057 rushing yards, and 72 total touchdowns.
Trubisky went29-22 with Chicago and led the team to an NFC Northdivision title in 2018. Despite ups and downs throughout his tenure as a Bear, the wheels really began to fall off during the 2020 season. Trubisky was benched in favor of Nick Foles in aWeek 3 affair with the Atlanta Falcons and played the backup role until the team’sWeek 12 matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
Trubisky would regain the starting role for the rest of the season and lead the team to itssecond playoff appearance in two years. However, following the team’s 21-9 loss to the Saints in theWild Card Round, the Bears would move off Trubisky in the offseason.

GettyPro Football Focus awarded quarterback Mitchell Trubisky a 76.2 grade in the Buffalo Bills’ 35-8 win over the New York Jets.
Trubisky landed as a backup quarterback in Buffalo and backed up Josh Allen for a season in 2021 before landing another starting opportunity with the Steelers in 2022. Trubisky signed atwo-year contractwith Pittsburgh in hopes of reviving his career as a starter. While he would begin the season as a starter, he would eventually be relegated to a backup once again as the Steelers’ first-round pick, Kenny Pickett, would replace him inWeek 4 of that season. Pickett would end up taking the reins from there.
Trubisky would spend 2023 in Pittsburgh before reuniting with Buffalo in 2024 and 2025. The biggest highlight of Trubisky’s career since Chicago came inWeek 18 of last season, where he posted four touchdowns against the New York Jets.
Trubisky has now parlayed his time in Buffalo into another opportunity, and while the exact contract details haven’t been revealed yet, he is set to add to his already impressive career earnings. Across his first nine years in the league, Trubisky has racked up$51.2 million.
Trubisky Isn’t The Only Bears QB To Sign A New Deal
Case Keenum Bears
GettyCase Keenum initially signed a one-year, $2.25 million deal with the Chicago Bears in 2025.
Among other Bears quarterbacks who signed a new contract on the opening day of free agency, Case Keenum joined the club. Keenum re-signed with Chicago, extending his initial contract two more years. Keenum initially signed on last offseason to support Caleb Williams during his sophomore year as the third-string quarterback. Keenum will continue in a mentorship role for Williams on a $5.5 million deal. This move could also indicate a potential Tyson Bagent move. The Bears’ second-string quarterback has been inseveral trade rumors throughout the offseason.
General manager Ryan Poles admitted that they have received interest in Bagent and that while the team would prefer to keep him, they are listening to offers. “We’ve gotten a few calls there,”Poles said in February. “That’s a really tough decision for us. But for Tyson as well, I think he would have the opportunity to go perform for a team and do some really good things. But again, you have to weigh the short-term and long-term.”
The short-term appears to be affected more and more as the free agency period unfolds, and Bears fans will just have to wait and see what the future could hold for Tyson Bagent.
