David Moyes was controversially booked for celebrating a last-minute Everton equaliser earlier this year.
After Beto’s 97th-minute goal against Brighton, Moyes ran down the dugout and onto the pitch before returning to his dugout.
Moyes criticised referee Chris Kavanagh after the game: “We’re killing it that the managers can’t come out of their technical area to celebrate a goal, knee sliding, do things which give you people quite a bit to talk about.
Moyes’ current deal expires next year… 🤔
Everton manager David Moyes.
“I bloody will do it again! Actually, if I’d been a bit more mobile, I might have done a knee slide.”
The Everton manager had to serve a one-game touchline ban, and yet Rob Edwards has just done the same thing and gone without a punishment.
Wayne Rooney noticed Rob Edwards doing the same thing as David Moyes
When Wolves scored late on against Liverpool earlier this month, Rob Edwards ran about 50 yards down the pitch in celebration, and yet he escaped a booking.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the former Toffees star complained about the lack of consistency on behalf of Moyes.

“I saw the other day, Rob Edwards, against Liverpool when he ran down, did he not get booked?
“I don’t think he got booked, did he? And then, I’m just going back to the other day when Moyesy, the one when Moyesy got booked, Rob Edwards runs down the whole length of the touchline, boots the ball into the crowd, and celebrates, which I think is great. I’m not saying I want him booked.

Everton target Crysencio Summerville.
“I’m not saying I want him booked, but I’m just saying, again, the consistency, why did David Moyes get booked and banned?
“Yeah, no. Listen, I hope he gets away with it, but I’m just, again, it’s that consistency. It’s more for the fact that when Moyes just went onto the pitch slightly, he gets booked.”
Phil McNulty explained that Moyes was booked for encroaching on the pitch, which Edwards didn’t do, hence why the punishments were different.
“For clarity. Informed the difference between David Moyes at Brighton and Rob Edwards last night is that Moyes came on the pitch, hence the yellow card, whereas Edwards didn’t,” McNulty wrote on X.
