Liverpool is among the clubs that will be at the negotiating table for Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window.
Diomande’s profile ticks many of the boxes Liverpool historically look for in a wide forward: explosive pace, one‑v‑one ability, and end product at a young age in a top European league. At Leipzig he has operated predominantly from the flank but with the flexibility to move inside, mirroring the sort of role Salah has played on the right of Liverpool’s attack.
Still only 19 and in his first season in a top 5 European league, he has already scored 11 goals and supplied seven assists in 27 outings.
Reports in Germany say Liverpool have already held talks over a potential summer move for Diomande, with Sky Sports Germany describing him as a serious candidate to bolster Arne Slot’s frontline. The Ivory Coast international is viewed internally as a “high‑class winger” option if Salah moves on or the club decides to refresh its wide areas regardless.
Sky Germany reporter Philipp Hinze has revealed that RB Leipzig need to raise at least €100 million in the upcoming summer window in a clear directive from the club:
“RB Leipzig must generate more than 100 million € in revenue from player transfers again, independent of the Champions League. Clear directive from Red Bull. If they qualify for the Champions League, one top sale (Diomande/Lukeba category) + smaller sales will suffice. In the event of potentially missing out on the premier competition, internally they are planning for two top departures.”
There is no release clause currently active in his contract, giving Leipzig strong leverage as they look to make Diomande their next record departure after previous high‑profile sales.
