Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong as a potential attacking target, with fresh claims from Spain suggesting the Gunners are closely monitoring the Cameroon international.
According to reports relayed by ICFootballNews citing Spanish sources, Arteta is assessing the forward as a possible long-term solution in attack as uncertainty grows around the role of Viktor Gyokeres in the club’s plans.
Eyong has emerged as one of the breakout performers in La Liga this season, attracting attention from several major European clubs after an impressive start to life with Levante. The young forward joined the Spanish side in September 2025 after spells with Villarreal and Cádiz, signing a contract that runs until 2029.
Since arriving, Eyong has made an immediate impact. His performances have been a bright spot in an otherwise difficult season for the club, with the striker’s pace, aerial ability and movement earning praise from observers in Spain.
Spanish media claims suggest ARSENAL scouts have been watching Eyong regularly as Arteta evaluates potential additions to his attacking options ahead of the next transfer window. The Gunners are said to view the Cameroon international as a versatile forward capable of operating centrally or across the front line.
Interest in Eyong is not limited to north London. Premier League rivals including Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the striker, while Barcelona are reported to be monitoring his development as well. The growing list of admirers highlights how rapidly the player’s reputation has risen since his move to Levante.
Eyong’s rise has been swift. Born in Douala in 2003, he progressed through youth football in Spain before breaking into professional football with Cádiz and later Villarreal. His strong scoring record for Villarreal B — including 19 goals in 30 games — helped propel him into the spotlight before his La Liga breakthrough.
He has also begun to establish himself on the international stage, earning senior caps for Cameroon and scoring his first goal for the national team in late 2025.
For ARSENAL, the reported interest reflects a broader strategy of targeting young talents with high ceilings who can develop within Arteta’s system.
