The Milwaukee Bucks are actively pursuing a jersey patch partner, reaching out to both local Wisconsin businesses and international companies for a $10 million-per-year deal.
With Motorola’s five-year sponsorship ending June 30, the team aims to lock in a new partner by the end of the regular season on April 12, according to Milwaukee Bucks Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer Matt Pazaras.
Since the 2021 NBA playoffs, when Milwaukee won the championship, Motorola’s well-known logo has been featured on the front left shoulder of the the team’s jerseys. The company replaced Harley-Davidson, which held the distinction of becoming the team’s first jersey patch sponsor during the 2017-18 season.

Milwaukee has not closed the door on renewing their deal with Motorola, though Pazaras pointed out that jersey patch agreements have grown more valuable in recent years while also attracting greater interest from potential sponsors via Business Journal.
Pazaras said companies with a strong presence in the Milwaukee area could emerge as potential patch partners, particularly those that already display signage or maintain a presence at Fiserv Forum. Possible candidates include Fiserv Inc., Johnson Controls, Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, and BMO.

Milwaukee’s Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer said the jersey patch sponsorship starts at a base price of $10 million, with room to add other components to the agreement. In Motorola’s case, the company also became one of the Bucks and Fiserv Forum’s “founding partners” and secured the role of the team’s official mobile smartphone partner.
The growing value of NBA sponsorships largely comes from the expanding social media audiences of teams and players, Pazaras added. He added that jerseys remain one of the few advertising platforms that show up almost everywhere.
