Is Tyrese Maxey playing tonight vs. Grizzlies? Final status for 76ers star

Tyrese Maxey has only missed three games so far this season, which is extremely impressive given the fact that he's leading the league in minutes per game.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, Maxey will miss his fourth game of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Tyrese Maxey ruled out vs. Grizzlies due to right finger sprain

It will be the second straight game missed by Maxey due to a right finger sprain that he suffered against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.

The good news for the Sixers is that further tests on Maxey's finger showed no breaks, so hopefully his absence won't be an extended one.

"No breaks," Sixers coach Nick Nurse said on Monday night. "Now, he's got to see the hand specialists to figure out what's next. ... "He seems OK and his spirits are good. He wants to be back, but he's got to see these people before we take the next step."

On the season, Maxey has played in 61 games for Philadelphia and posted averages of 29.0 points, 6.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals per performance.

In addition to Maxey, the Sixers will also be without star center Joel Embiid for the game against the Grizzlies due to a right oblique strain.
