Cleveland Browns News and Rumors 03/10/26: Filling in the Gaps

CLEVELAND, OHIO (TheOBR.com) - Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!

THE DAILY BLOVIATION

For all the public wailing about the Cleveland Browns' salary cap situation, Andrew Berry once again seems to have found the money to play the free-agent game. The OBR has a full slate of news and rumors this morning.

The Browns made two moves yesterday, signing guard Zion Johnson to a three-year, $49 million deal. Johnson, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers after being selected in the first round of the 2022 draft, fills an immediate and glaring need on an offensive line that desperately required an upgrade. At 26, he should be entering his prime. The OBR has a full contract breakdown out this morning, examining the structure of the deal. And don't count on the Browns being done on the OL — Lane Adkins has said that the Browns are continuing to aggressively search the market.

On the linebacker front, the Browns wasted no time responding to the loss of Devin Bush, who bolted to the Chicago Bears in free agency, by signing former All-Pro Quincy Williams to a two-year deal. Williams brings an explosive, high-energy style to the linebacker position — Jets fans loved him for his sideline-to-sideline speed and his ability to light people up. His energy and instincts are a nice contrast to Bush's more methodical approach, and the OBR has a breakdown of what Williams means for the 2026 linebacker room. It's an aggressive, smart replacement.

Meanwhile, the quarterback market is absolutely churning. The Miami Dolphins reportedly informed Tua Tagovailoa that they will release him — a massive development that reshapes the entire QB landscape overnight. Geno Smith is also drawing interest from multiple teams. Kyler Murray remains a major name. The OBR's insider community is buzzing this morning with multiple threads on the Browns' QB situation — ranging from whether they should pursue Kyler to whether they should just stay patient. The forums are rich today, folks.

I want to take a moment to thank you for continuing to read and rely on the OBR to keep you informed. I truly think there's a large "information gap" between fans who read our premium forums daily and those who don't. Very little of what the news you read yesterday would come as a shock if you had been keeping up to date. Keeping up with the news is one thing. You can do that on Twitter or by surfing all the Browns sites. Understanding it and anticipating it is another. I am so proud of the work the OBR team is doing. We're truly blessed with some great contributors, all of whom are focused on making the OBR great. Every member of the OBR has a role to play, and I'm so grateful for them joining me on this journey.

For the record, if you want to join the OBR on a monthly subscription, you can sign up with the code 3MOBRFOR1 and get two free months tacked on. This will get you through free agency, the draft and rookie minicamp. We hope you like what you see and decide to stick around. We have hundreds of subscribers who have been with us for more than twenty years - amazing!

I am spending the majority of my time these days on a forward-looking project that has me very excited, and it's the competence and ability of the OBR team to do their jobs that allows me the luxury of doing so. I woke up this morning excited to get to work and very grateful to you and the OBR team for allowing me to work on ways to take us to the next level. Feel free to reach out to me if this piques your curiosity and you'd like to get involved.

Have a good one! GO BROWNS!

THE LIFT

Positive news from the world of sports and beyond...

I led a team that built an AI-based insurance underwriting system in the 1990s. It was successfully deployed and worked well, but the company got cold feet about it after a while and decided to go back ot the old-fashioned ways. I continue to wonder what would have happened if I had never left the AI world to follow my passion for Cleveland sports. I'd probably be making more money, LOL, but I'm very happy where I am. Anyhow, the last link probably just interests me; the first two are things I found interesting this morning.

- New study: Depression patients still symptom-free 5 years after taking psychedelic mushrooms

- AI insurance underwriting is past the pitch deck—Gradient AI just got the capital to prove it
