Potential Estevao Willian fitness update as Chelsea train for PSG clash

Chelsea are set to make a trip to Paris for the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against PSG, hoping that injuries have started to ease within the squad.

A number of key players have been welcomed back recently. Romeo Lavia made his first start for Chelsea in four months at the weekend, while Dario Essugo returned to action with two assists off the bench.

The big issues at the minute have been in the attacking areas. Jamie Gittens has been absent for a while, while Estevao Willian has also been missing due to a small issue.

Estevao Willian doesn’t train ahead of Chelsea vs PSG Champions League first leg

Liam Rosenior hinted he wouldn’t be missing for too long, however it looks as if the first leg against PSG is going to come too soon for the youngster.

With Chelsea’s website broadcasting their final training session in England before the flight, Estevao was not seen amongst his Blues teammates.

Club captain Reece James was in attendance. He ended up being one of the few unused subs at the weekend against Wrexham.

There was also a really positive sign with Levi Colwill being spotted in action, despite not playing a single game for the club this season.

Despite initial concerns Colwill wouldn’t feature at all this campaign, there are now positive signs that he could return ahead of a crucial set of fixtures late in the season.

Estevao’s absence is going to be felt though. He has enjoyed a very strong start to life in the Champions League.

The wonderkid has three goals already for the Blues in this competition, however looks like will have to wait until the second leg to make another European impact.
