Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium has been transformative for the club’s finances.
Leaving Goodison Park was difficult, but it was a decision Everton had to make if they were to progress as a club.
The Toffees are estimated to earn an extra £40m in revenue from the 52,000-seater stadium, so that should translate to bigger budgets for David Moyes.

Everton more from sporting events than concerts at Hill Dickinson Stadium

“So I will add to that is that I have been told, not been given any specific figures at all but I am told that events such as the Super League Magic Weekend, the Rugby Union International, all of those sort of events, we have seen obviously the Rugby League Test Match as well, are more lucrative than concerts,” Beesley stated.

“Concerts give you a lot of kudos but they don’t necessarily give you the same sort of revenues. That is what I have been told about that.”
With that said, it would be reasonable to suggest concerts may be much more of a sporadic event at the Hill Dickinson.
The club also need a license to host events, such as concerts and boxing fights, later on in the night, and it’s understood they did apply for one last year.
So, clearly, it’s still part of their commercial strategy but perhaps not the priority.
The Toffees will be hosting an international friendly between Scotland and the Ivory Coast later this month, and that’s expected to bring in a healthy £1m in profit.
