Packers’ Matthew Golden sends strong 5-word message on Malik Willis news

The Green Bay Packers have a major change in their quarterback room after what everyone expected finally happened on Monday, with Malik Willis agreeing to a deal with the Miami Dolphins.

The 26-year-old Willis rebuilt his resume in two years of stay with Green Bay, and parlayed that into a three-year, $67.5 million contract with Miami. The Dolphins parted ways with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Willis is now widely viewed as Miami’s next starting quarterback.

Willis began his journey in the NFL when he was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. He never blossomed into a star with the Titans, who traded him to Green Bay in 2024. That turned out to be a blessing for Willis, who shined whenver the Packers called on him to take the field.

Packers wide receiver sends a message to Willis after QB’s move to the Dolphins

Following the news of Willis’ move to Miami, Green Bay wide receiver Matthew Golden sent a message to his now-former teammate.

“God Will , blessing my boy 🙏🏾” the former Texas Longhorns star wide receiver Golden wrote in a post on X, as a reaction to Willis’ decision to take his talents to the Dolphins.

Golden had a letdown rookie NFL campaign in 2025, as he only gathered 361 receiving yards with zero touchdowns on 29 receptions in 14 games. But if there’s one thing he can learn from Willis, it’s that being patient can pay off.

Hopefully for Golden, who was a first-round pick in 2025 by Green Bay, he will have a breakout season in the 2026 campaign.
