Micky van de Ven is one of the names that continues to pop up as a potential Liverpool signing.
The Dutchman is in the thick of an ugly relegation battle at Spurs, and harbours a dream to play at Anfield.
Van de Ven could be available to Liverpool this summer, with a mass exodus from the North London side a real possibility given their dire situation at present.
But Liverpool reporter Dom King has suggested that a change in thinking has occurred, with the decision-makers on Merseyside cooling their interest.

Micky van de Ven wants Liverpool, but the feeling might not be mutual
As a strong, quick, left-sided centre-back, Van de Ven is exactly the profile you would expect Liverpool to pursue as they arrange a Virgil van Dijk succession plan.
But this season has not painted the 24-year-old in a great light.
Van de Ven’s attitude at Spurs has been questionable at times, and that might have just scuppered his plans to take the next step to a massive club.

King tells talkSPORT: “From what I’ve heard, I don’t I don’t believe they’re in for him. I would never say anything definitively about a football transfer because things can change.

“I would believe that he would want to come to Liverpool. That’s from what I’ve heard, but I’m not sure that the feeling is totally mutual at this moment in time.”
The attitude problems I’m referring to stem from two separate incidents this season. One with Thomas Frank, who was snubbed by Van de Ven after a loss to Chelsea before Christmas. Then with interim boss Igor Tudor, the Dutchman was seen ignoring his instructions during his first game in charge.
Add to that a red card against Palace — which means Van de Ven won’t play against Liverpool on Sunday — and what you have is a growing list of reasons to question if he is the right fit for the culture at Anfield.

It should be noted that the environment at Spurs is not conducive to high performance. None of their star players are performing close to their actual level.
Liverpool could still go for Van de Ven, and it wouldn’t be a move that fans turn their noses up at, but it might be that he has missed his window after a torrid few months in North London.
