Travis Kelce is not retiring! The NFL star announced his return for a 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Travis’ new deal is worth a whopping $12 million—at least.
The tight end has helped the Chiefs win three Super Bowls in 2020, 2023, and 2024.
Karma continues to be a guy on the Chiefs!
Travis Kelce will be returning for a 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPN, and made his decision “just ahead” of becoming an “unrestricted free agent.” Meaning, he could have gone to another team, but didn’t!
The star tight-end is clearly staying loyal to the Chiefs and coach Andy Reid, confirming his return on the Instagram page for his podcast, New Heights:
Soooo, how much is Travis getting paid? ESPN reports that Travis’ deal is “worth $12 million and carries a maximum value of $15 million.” Wow!
Keep in mind, things were still up in the air until relatively recently, at least based on Chiefs general manager Brett Veach saying just two weeks ago "Travis is the best. He's an icon, and hopefully he comes back. We'll just kind of let that process play out. It's not your typical 27-year-old [and] first time at free agency. Travis has done everything and has accomplished everything. He's about to get married. He's got a lot going on, so I don't think there's an element of us not trying to get something done — you need to have some sort of deadline [or] timeline — but at the same time he's Travis Kelce."
Travis started playing with the Chiefs in 2013, and he’s won three Super Bowls with the team in 2020, 2023, and 2024. There’s been some speculation about retirement, but clearly he’s down for at least one more season!
