The Green Bay Packers came up short last season, exiting in the wild-card round for the second consecutive year. While the team found some positives, roster weaknesses were evident, especially on defense. Their coverage on the outside struggled, relying heavily on players like Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine.
To bolster size and consistency, the Packers signed Benjamin St-Juste to a two-year, $10 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

“The #Packers are now adding on defense, agreeing to terms with former #Chargers FA CB Benjamin St-Juste, per me and @MikeGarafolo.
It’s a 2-year, $10M deal with some upside to $10.5M done by Kelton Crenshaw and Chris Coy of @KlutchSports.” Rapoport wrote in a post X (formerly Twitter).

St-Juste played a backup role with the Chargers last season, finishing with 37 total tackles, including 22 solo, while adding one interception and defending seven passes.
The 28-year-old cornerback is set to take on a larger role with the Packers, who have been seeking more length and strength in their defensive schemes. Standing around 6-foot-3, St-Juste has the size to compete effectively against taller receivers.

Adding St-Juste represents a low-risk, high-reward move for Green Bay, especially if he boosts his production once given a starting role. Currently, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, and Nate Hobbs remain ahead of him on the depth chart.
Naturally, the depth chart could change once training camp begins, especially under new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. With free agency still in full swing, the Packers are expected to continue adding pieces to reinforce their defense.
