Compensatory picks are awarded based on a formula the league uses based around the salary of players that a team loses in free agency weighed against the money that the team spent to replace them.

This spring, two teams that made the NFL Playoffs this season and one heralded by a two-time MVP winner at quarterback who will receive the most compensatory picks; with the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers each will receive four additional picks.

Here’s how they break down:

Philadelphia Eagles – Third-Round (No. 98 overall), Fourth-Round (No. 137 overall), Fifth-Round (No. 178 overall), Sixth-Round (No. 215 overall).

Pittsburgh Steelers – Third-Round (No. 99 overall), Fourth-Round (No. 135 overall), Sixth-Round (No. 214 overall), Sixth-Round (No. 215 overall)

Baltimore Ravens – Fifth-Round (No. 173 overall), Fifth-Round (No. 174 overall), Seventh-Round (No. 250 overall), Seventh-Round (No. 253 overall)

Three of the teams that have a sustained track record of postseason success, with three general managers who have specialized in drafting and developing homegrown talent over the past decade are the three franchises that will receive the most additional draft picks thanks to the league’s compensatory pick formula.
