Bournemouth player ready to wait for Barcelona – Already offered

Bournemouth are increasingly preparing for life without Marcos Senesi, with fresh reports in Spain claiming the defender is ready to leave the Premier League on a free transfer this summer.

Spanish newspaper Sport report the 27-year-old centre-back is expected to depart the Cherries on June 30 when his contract expires. According to the report, Bournemouth have already accepted that Senesi will not continue at the club.

Sporting director Tiago Pinto recently confirmed the situation publicly, explaining that the Argentine will become a free agent at the end of the season.

“Senesi will become a free agent next June and will officially leave the team when his contract expires next summer,” he stated. “He will not have a future at the club in the next period, which means he will be out of the team’s plans for the new season.”

Senesi has been a regular for Bournemouth this campaign, making around 30 appearances. As a result, his availability on a free transfer is already attracting significant attention across Europe.

European interest already building

The growing interest will not come as a surprise. Over recent weeks, several reports across Europe have already linked the Bournemouth defender with a number of suitors.

Italian sidesRoma and Juventus have both been strongly associated with a move. Meanwhile, other reports have suggested several Premier League clubs are also keeping an eye on the situation.

Tottenham have previously been named among the interested teams. Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle have also been mentioned in connection with the defender.

Given Senesi’s experience in England and his availability without a transfer fee, it is easy to understand why multiple clubs are monitoring the situation.

Barcelona interest but not priority

According to Sport, Senesi has also been offered to Barcelona. And he would prioritise a move to Camp Nou if the opportunity arises.

However, the Catalan side are currently focusing on other defensive targets. Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is described as their main objective for the centre-back position.

That leaves Senesi waiting to see whether Barcelona will move forward. The Argentine is reportedly willing to give the Spanish side time to make a decision.

Given the level of interest across Italy, Spain and the Premier League, the coming months could easily turn Senesi into one of the most contested free agents of the next transfer window.
