Bears to sign former Lions wide receiver, returner Kalif Raymond: source

The Bears are looking for wide receivers to compete behind Rome Odunze and Luther Burden this season, and longtime Lions player Kalif Raymond is in the mix. The Bears agreed to a one-year, $5.1 million deal with Raymond on Tuesday, a source said, and he will sign when contracts can be finalized Wednesday.

Raymond, 31, joined the Bears a day after Olamide Zaccheaus left for the Falcons in free agency. He and Jahdae Walker currently are next in line after Odunze and Burden.

Raymond had 24 catches for 289 yards and a touchdown for the Lions last season, as well as returning punts and kickoffs. He had a punt return for a touchdown last season and has three in his career.

He was with the Lions the last five seasons and overlapped with Bears coach Ben Johnson from 2021 through ’24. He had his best seasons when Johnson was a Lions assistant, and over those four seasons he totaled 147 receptions, 1,896 yards and seven touchdowns.
