Jordan Pickford’s recent comments on young players departing Everton for loans could be taken onboard by David Moyes regarding Tyler Dibling.
Since signing for Everton over the summer, Dibling has made just four starts in the Premier League for the Toffees.
Pickford has urged Everton’s youngsters to experience a loan move elsewhere to develop themselves in the men’s game.
Playing youth football or, in Dibling’s case, not playing enough football will limit what Moyes gets in return from his players.

Jordan Pickford’s loan advice for young Everton players
The words from the England number one have come amid the departure of George Pickford on loan to Southport.
Jordan Pickford has been mentoring George Pickford, with advice behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

“If you’ve got a bit of talent, if you’ve got that talent there as a keeper, you’ve got to go out on loan as quick as you can to the lower leagues,” said Jordan.
“I did it and it put me in good stead. I can only use my experience but I feel like mine’s a perfect example.”
Tyler Dibling must listen to Jordan Pickford’s Everton advice
It has been a difficult 2025/26 campaign for Dibling since he made the big-money move to Merseyside.
Moyes publicly criticised Dibling earlier in the season, with the 62-year-old demanding more from the winger.

Since making the move north, Dibling has failed to provide a single goal contribution for Everton.
Internally, Everton retain belief in Dibling’s potential, but there can be no getting away from his lack of involvement this season.
Competition Appearances Goals Assists Yellow Cards Minutes
Premier League 14 0 0 2 350′
Carabao Cup 2 0 0 0 88′
FA Cup 1 0 0 0 75′
TOTAL 18 0 0 2 520′
It is difficult to expect Dibling to provide an instant impact on the limited minutes he has played. The 20-year-old has not particularly shone for Everton, but it has to be considered that he’s making cameo appearances off the bench.
Since the back end of January, Dibling has played a mere 30 minutes of football over the course of the last nine Premier League games.
Without regular football, Dibling is not going to improve.
Everton should loan out Tyler Dibling next season
It may be a bitter pill to swallow for many on Merseyside, but a loan departure could be the only option for Dibling.
Everton would unlikely to be willing to give up altogether on Dibling already given the finances involved in bringing him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, if they retain Jack Grealish and potentially even Tyrique George, then Dibling faces another campaign of struggling for opportunities.
Moyes has not been impressed with Dibling since he signed for Everton and that has translated into a lack of opportunities.
As things stand, Dibling is set to have lost a year in his development by watching from the bench.
Although Moyes insists pre-season will be crucial for Dibling, it is difficult to imagine such a significant turnaround where a loan wouldn’t make more sense for the winger.
