Following the announcement, McDuffie’s partner and content creator Gabby Esposito shared a heartfelt message on social media. She posted a tribute to the city and the organization that drafted McDuffie in 2022. Espositowrote, “We had the time of our lives, with you” as she thanked the fans for their support over the last 4 seasons.

The trade comes as McDuffie enters a new chapter of his career. Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, he signed a massive4-year contract extension worth $124 million. The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed funding. This contract makes McDuffie the highest-paid cornerback in the history of the NFL.
McDuffie also shared his own message to the city. On March 9, 2026, he released a letter addressed to the fans. McDuffie wrote, “Chiefs Kingdom, thank you for taking a kid from Cali and showing him what a community is all about.” He noted that Kansas City will always be a part of him.
During his time with the Chiefs, McDuffie became a cornerstone of the defense. He helped the team win 2 championships and earned a first-team All-Pro selection in 2023. He often spoke about his motivation to play for his late brother, Tyler.
