Pedro joined the Blues in a deal worth up to £60m from Brighton last summer, and is having a brilliant debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazil international has scored 18 goals so far, with 14 of those coming in the Premier League, as he looks to become the first Chelsea striker to score 20 league goals in a season since Diego Costa.

Pedro started the season well, but went through a dip in form towards the end of Enzo Maresca’s time in charge.

However, since Liam Rosenior arrived he’s been in scintillating form, and no player has scored more goals in the Premier League in 2026.

The 24-year-old came off the bench to score against Wrexham, and Rosenior has backed Pedro to make an impact against PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Chelsea will be hoping Pedro can continue his form, and Terry has compared the Brazil international to club legend Drogba.

“Big praise from Liam Rosenior this week for Joao Pedro, who’s been in excellent form and we’re very lucky to have him,” he said on TikTok.

“Goals has to be at the forefront of every striker’s mind, and he’s only going to add to that as the season goes on.

“I think his link-up play this year has been excellent. It’s got better week after week, and that’s only going to grow and improve as he grows and gets a little bit older.”

Similarities with Didier Drogba?

Terry played with Drogba during his time at Chelsea, and he thinks there are similarities between the Ivorian and Pedro.

“It enables you to hit him – we had it when Didier played – you can hit him when you’re under a little bit of pressure, and get yourself up the pitch and in the opposition half more importantly,” he added.
