GREEN BAY, Wis. — On the second wave of free agency, the Green Bay Packers threw their hat into the ring. They agreed to terms with cornerback Benjamin St-Juste on a two-year deal worth $10 million dollars.
At an average annual value of $5 million dollars, the signing shouldn't impact the Packers' compensatory pick formula for next season. St-Juste will just offset the lowest compensatory pick the Packers would've received, which was a sixth-round pick for the departure of defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, who signed a $10 million dollar deal with the New York Jets. The Packers will still receive their full allotment of compensatory selections for 2027.
St-Juste, a Canadian native who will turn 29 years old during the season, is a former third-round pick of the Washington Commanders. He spent four seasons there, logging 45 starts with one interception, 34 defended passes, four forced fumbles, three sacks and 206 total tackles.

He signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers last spring and, by all accounts, put together his best season to date. Opposing quarterbacks completed just 47.5 percent of their passes into St-Juste's coverage and he surrendered just a single touchdown—a career-low. He also registered the second of his two career interceptions, as well as three pass break-ups and a passer rating of 60.9. St-Juste played in 16 games for the Chargers, as well as their Wild Card game, but he wasn't a full-time starter. He served as a backup behind primary cornerbacks Cam Hart and Donte Jackson.
The Packers have been in the market for cornerbacks this offseason. St-Juste may not be the immediate fix they're hoping for, but above all else, they needed capable, experienced bodies at the position. Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are still presumed to be the boundary starters at the moment, with Javon Bullard remaining in the nickelback position.
