Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown’s name has been the subject of frequent trade speculation as the NFL’s new league year begins, and the franchise may already be kicking the tires on potential replacements in the 2026 NFL Draft.
After the Los Angeles Chargers missed out on signing Alec Pierce in free agency, pairing Brown with Justin Herbert could be a trade destination for the Eagles to explore. Likewise, after the New England Patriots signed wide receiver Romeo Doubs in free agency, one potential trade partner might have been off the board for general manager Howie Roseman and the Eagles to explore.
Regardless, Philadelphia might be doing due diligence on a rookie receiver to replace Brown, in the event of a trade sometime between now and training camp getting underway in the summer.

In a relatively thin wide receiver class, the Eagles getting early intel on some of the top receivers in this year’s class is a wise investment of the team’s allotted visits.
At 6-foot and 199 pounds, Cooper led the Hoosiers with 69 receptions for 937 yards and 14 touchdowns, as presumptive No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Fernando Mendoza’s favorite target.
“His ability to add yards after contact could earn Cooper more carries than we saw from him at Indiana,” NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein writes of Cooper. “Fighting for catch space and blocking for the running game are areas where he needs improvement.”
Whether the Eagles are preparing for a post-A.J. Brown era or simply looking to diversify their offensive weaponry, after Jahan Dotson’s departure, Cooper’s production and YAC ability make him an intriguing fit for new coordinator Sean Mannion’s system.
