Despite currently having the 8th most cap space in the NFL after trading edge rusher Rashan Gary and releasing offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, the Green Bay Packers have been fairly conservative in their free agent approach this offseason.
Yet one potential major target for the team that has remained unsigned through one-and-a-half days of the legal tampering period is Pro Bowl cornerback and Super Bowl champion Riq Woolen, who is one of the top free agents in this year’s class.
Given the team’s struggles at the position, in addition to the premature release of last year’s addition Nate Hobbs the fit feels very natural.
However, posting on X on Tuesday, Riq sent a cryptic message about his future in the wake of the open market scramble.

“…..”, Woolen wrote on X.
What Does Riq Woolen’s Message Mean?
It is hard to tell exactly what Woolen is trying to indicate by his post. Presumably it has something to do with his contract situation, and many of the replies to the post contain encouragement for the former fifth round draft pick to join Green Bay.
Perhaps the message has something to do with the Packers more recent activity on the open market. The team did not sign a single player off the market in day one, but early on Tuesday they did make a move for cornerback Benjamin St. Juste, formerly of the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers.
St. Juste could end up occupying one of the two starting outside corner slots, alongside last year’s CB1 Keisean Nixon. This could potential nullify the need to bring in a statement cornerback such as Woolen.
Ian Rapoport announced on X that Green Bay was signing St. Juste at 7.40 am ET, and three-and-a-half hours later Woolen made his post, so it is not wild to believe those moves could be linked.
