Liverpool faced off against Galatasaray at the RAMS Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie. The Reds made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the seventh minute when Mario Lemina found the back of the net. Arne Slot’s men failed to mount a comeback and were trailing 1-0 at the half-time break.
The Merseyside club failed to find the leveller in the second 45 minutes and crashed to a poor 1-0 loss away from home.

He made a couple of top saves to keep his team in the game, but there was no clean sheet for him.

Gomez dealt with the danger when he could and was a strong presence in the air.
**CB: Ibrahima Konate – 6.5/10**
He made a few crucial clearances inside his half and was a threat at the other end of the field.
**CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6.5/10**
Van Dijk made a lot of important clearances at the back but failed to secure the shutout.

He caught the eye at times on the left flank but failed to make a difference going forward.
**CM: Ryn Gravenberch – 6.5/10**
Gravenberch managed to shine at times on both halves.
**CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6/10**
He gave away the ball cheaply and was unfortunate to last the whole 90 minutes.

Salah made one good chance in the final third but never looked like he would score.

Wirtz was a real menace in the final third and was replaced in the 72nd minute.
