In a move that could shake up the quarterback market across the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals are set to release former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray. Despite injuries and inconsistency in recent seasons, Murray remains a dynamic dual-threat quarterback with elite athletic ability and the potential to transform an offense. With several teams around the league searching for quarterback help, three franchises stand out as logical landing spots:

The Vikings could be one of the most interesting fits for Murray. Minnesota has been evaluating its long-term quarterback situation, and bringing in a player with Murray’s playmaking ability could inject new life into the offense. He would be perfect competition for J.J. McCarthy.
With offensive weapons such as Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, Murray would have an immediate group of talented pass catchers to work with. His mobility could also add another dimension to Minnesota’s offensive scheme. If the Vikings are looking to make a bold move at quarterback, Murray could be an option with significant upside.
Kansas City Chiefs
At first glance, the Chiefs may seem like an unlikely destination since they already have superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is currently injured though, and the Chiefs just saw former backup Gardner Minshew sign elsewhere this week.

Kansas City could view Murray as one of the most talented backup quarterbacks available. If Murray were willing to take a short-term role while rebuilding his value during Mahomes injury, learning within Andy Reid’s offense could be beneficial for his career. The Chiefs have a strong culture and creative offensive system that has helped maximize the talents of many players.

The Jets are another team that could make sense if they are seeking a dynamic quarterback option. New York has spent recent seasons trying to stabilize the most important position on the field, and Murray’s ability to create plays both in the air and on the ground could help energize the offense. Although the Jets brought Geno Smith in from the Raiders, Murray has much more upside.
