Warriors Wait For Steph Curry Injury Update, Return Date

While the news that Curry willbe re-evaluated on Wednesdayisn’t anything major by itself, it could prove to be good news, as all the previous updates only signaled the star would miss more time.

After suffering the knee injury in January, Curry tried to play through it, but chose to sit out as he and the teamdidn’t want to risk any long-term health issues.

“There’s no underlying structural issue that is of graver concern, but this is somethinghe’s been dealing with for over a month now. It originally popped up in Minnesota during a workout the day that game (vs.Timberwolves) gotpostponed,”Slater said in mid-February. “He played through it a little bit…And then it started to bother him again.”

The latest on Steph Curry’s persistent knee injury with @ShamsCharania. Another MRI came back clean, ruling out anything structural, but Curry’s been dealing with this pain and swelling for nearly a month. Started after a workout on Jan. 24.

Though Currywas initially expected to sit out past the All-Star break and return shortly after, it ended up being a longer absence. At the time ofSlater’s update, Shams Charania reported that Curry had no injury return date or timeline.

However,it was then reported that Curry wouldbe re-evaluated in ten days, but that wasthen followed by another ‘ten-day‘timeline, whichhas been the latest update the Warriors or any team insider has offered on the star.

There were rumblings that Curry could miss even more time amid GoldenState’s already minimal playoff and title push hopes, but a recent post on X by Slater confirms that the star wants to get back on the court as soon as possible.

Steph Curry texted Draymond Green after the win in Houston: “A bunch of exclamation marks. Y’all did that.”

Here is Draymond on his recent conversations with Curry, who he said texted him today: “Keep going. I know it’s tough, but promise you, I’m coming back.”

“Keep going. I knowit’s tough, but promise you,I’m coming back,”Curry reportedly texted teammate Draymond Green.

As of now, the Warriors will wait until Wednesday when team doctors officially re-evaluate Curry. All the previous updates have only pushed back any potential return, so while there might be hopeabout him coming back, at this point, itshouldn’t be expected in the next few games.

Warriors Injury Report vs Bulls

Along with Curry still sidelined, Golden State has several other players listed on the injury report, as has been the case for much of the season.

Jimmy Butler remains out with a torn ACL. Kristaps Porzingis has been cleared for Tuesday as he recovers from a ‘mystery illness‘that has since taken over team headlines since his trade deadline acquisition over a month ago.Porzingis has played in only two games for the Warriorsin his brief Bay Area tenure, and has a question markboth about his status for the rest of the season and his future in Golden State.

After theteam’s recent loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Latvian claimed that he had turned a cornerwith his illness.

“I believe I will be healthy now,”Porzingis said. “This is what I really feel. Not to sell anything becauseI’ve been in and out, out again. But this time, I really feel this is it.”

But after being ruled out against the Utah Jazz,it’s fair to say that no reported verdict on his health canbe taken as fact.

Moses Moody (wrist) and Seth Curry (back) have each been ruled out against Chicago, while Green, Quinten Post, andDe’AnthonyMelton are both listed as questionable.
