Arne Slot has now seen his Liverpool side fail to beat Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray twice in the Champions League this season.
The Reds were beaten 1-0 in the group phase earlier this campaign thanks to a goal from Victor Osimhen.
Liverpool then lost to Galatasaray by the same scoreline on Tuesday evening, meaning Slot has become the first manager in the club’s storied history to lose two away games to the same team in a single European campaign.

Arne Slot first Liverpool manager to lose 100th game since 1992
But that is not the only unwanted record that the Dutchman has to his name after the defeat in Turkey this week.
The Champions League meeting was Slot’s 100th game in charge of Liverpool.
Ahead of kick-off, the 47-year-old had 62 wins to his name as Reds manager, and a victory over Galatasaray would have seen him overtake Kenny Dalglish for the most wins across a manager’s first 100 matches at the club.
But that obviously did not happen, and it now means he has become the first Reds manager to lose his 100th game in charge since Graeme Souness all the way back in 1992.

While the most recent chunk of games has been dire for fans to watch, Slot obviously had a very good start to life at Anfield.
He won the Premier League in his first campaign, and in turn, his win rate as manager is actually fairly decent.
The Dutchman has won 62, drawn 15 and lost 23 of the 100 games he has been in the Liverpool dugout.
In said ties, the Reds have averaged 2.08 goals scored and 1.18 goals conceded per 90, with a points total of 2.01.
That gives him an overall win rate of, well, you can probably guess, 62% to date. Jurgen Klopp’s record of 60.9% is the second best, but it’s worth remembering he took charge of 491 matches across all competitions.
