The Washington Commanders have gone heavy on defense as free agency has begun, but we can't leave the offense and Jayden Daniels without any incomings, can we?
After a 2025 season that was ruined by injuries, the Commanders are hoping for a bounce-back season from Jayden, who will have a new offensive coordinator in his ear.
But how can Washington put its young quarterback in the best position to succeed in 2026?
Well, CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo has named Alvin Kamara as a potential target after the New Orleans Saints signed Travis Etienne in free agency.
"There might not be a team that needs to replenish its running back room more than Washington, which is slated to potentially lose former starter Austin Ekeler and notable backups Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols in free agency," DeArdo wrote.
"Washington still has Jacory Croskey-Merritt, a 2025 seventh-round pick who was one of the lone bright spots during what was a highly disappointing season for the Commanders. But he was seldom used as a receiver last season, which is why Kamara specifically makes sense for Washington."

Commanders need weapons for Daniels
You only have a limited window to cash in on a quarterback's rookie deal, and the Commanders are seeing that window close rapidly.
Last season was a wash due to injury, so this offseason presents the last chance to really go big to try and get deep into the postseason.
The defense has already seen several players come in to be starters in free agency, but could Kamara be next? Yes, it would need to be a trade, but maybe Alvin's skills as a runner and receiver could be just what the doctor ordered for Jayden.
It's an out-of-the-box line of thinking, but this is the NFL, so never say never.
