Cowboys trade rumor could lead to deal with Giants, Steelers, Raiders or Broncos

The Dallas Cowboys made a signing in free agency on Tuesday that could have a domino effect that leads to a trade that the Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos and New York Giants could all have interest in.

The Cowboys announced that they have agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Chargers defensive lineman Otito Ogbonnia. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo is reporting that the deal is for one year and $3 million.

After that signing was announced, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reported that teams around the NFL are keeping an eye on another Cowboys defensive lineman, Osa Odighizuwa, and are wondering if he now might be available via trade.

"Teams are keeping an eye on what Dallas may do with Osa Odighizuwa, sources say. The Cowboys signed him to a 4-year, $80M contract last year, and teams believe he can now be traded for," Jones reported.

It's fair to wonder with the Cowboys now having a crowded and expensive defensive line room that also includes Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams.

First things first, if the Cowboys want to move Odighizuwa, they'll likely have to pick up some of the money remaining on his $80 million contract.

Other than that, he should draw interest as a defender who offers decent pass-rush and run defense skills, as well as inside/outside versatility.

As previously noted, the Steelers, Broncos, Giants and Raiders could all have interest in Odighizuwa.

We know, we know, the Giants are in the same division and intra-division trades rarely happen, but if the Cowboys want to unload Odighizuwa bad enough, we believe they'll consider it.

New York might be interested as it looks for more firepower next to Dexter Lawrence.

The Raiders need help all along their defensive line, especially after parting ways with Maxx Crosby. Granted, Odighizuwa isn't an edge rusher like Crosby, but the Raiders do need help up the middle, too.

In Denver, the Broncos are reeling after losing John Franklin-Myers in free agency. While he would be a downgrade, Odighizuwa offers the same versatility upfront and would amount to a serviceable replacement.

Last but not least, we have the Steelers, who don't have a dire need upfront but could use more depth with Cam Heyward long in the tooth and Derrick Harmon coming off a rookie campaign in which he dealt with injury.
