Green Bay Packers sign 2x Super Bowl-winning kick returner in NFL free agency

Most of the news that has involved the Green Bay Packers in the first two days of NFL free agency has involved some of their players signing elsewhere. Rashan Gary was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, and Elgton Jenkins and Nate Hobbs were released (Jenkins has since signed with the Cleveland Browns).

On top of these moves, the following Packers players have found new homes:

Furthermore, Green Bay has re-signed a few of their own free agents

The Packers also agreed to a two-year contract with cornerback Benjamin St-Juste. Now, they are addressing the kick return specialist position.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Green Bay has reached a one-year contract agreement with wide receiver/kick return specialist Skyy Moore:

A second round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, he won two Super Bowls with the team during his time there. He was not used often on offense, however, and was traded to the San Francisco 49ers prior to the 2025 NFL season.

It was with San Francisco that Moore was used as a kick return specialist for the first time. Last year, he had 291 punt return yards on 25 returns (11.6 average) and 907 kick return yards on 33 attempts (27.5 average). All told, he had 1,296 all-purpose return yards in 2025.

As a receiver, Moore has just 48 receptions for 581 yards and a touchdown in his four-year NFL career.

Clearly, the hope is that he can make the roster as Green Bay’s kick returner and provide them much needed production in that role.
