Chelsea player willing to join West Ham United permanently

A lot of talk surrounding Chelsea has been about [potential signings](https://readchelsea.com/2026/03/10/chelsea-newcastle-bids-sign-german-winger). But one has to remember that the club are working under financial constraints at the moment. They were handed a hefty fine by UEFA last summer and will have to spend within some pre-determined boundaries for the foreseeable future.

So, if Chelsea sign players, they will have to say goodbye to some as well. Of course, that could become a slippery slope. In the past, we have seen quite a few depart Stamford Bridge and enjoy success elsewhere. Names like Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah come to mind immediately.

One player you would expect to have that sort of impact elsewhere is Axel Disasi. After being frozen out of the squad in the first half of the season, he ended up joining West Ham United on loan in the winter.

It seems to have been exactly what he needed as well. Disasi has gone straight into the West Ham United starting XI. That has co-incided with an upturn in form for the Hammers. The relegation contenders have lost just one of the seven games the Chelsea loanee has played for them. Naturally, there is already talk of a permanent move in the future. That will only happen on one condition though.

According to insider ExWHUEmployee (via [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-insider-reveals-monster-defender-wants-move-on-one-condition/)), Disasi would be keen to join West Ham United on a permanent deal. But that is only if they avoid relegation this season.

Of course, that should go without saying. One cannot expect Disasi to join the club, if they end up getting relegated to the Championship. That being said, the way the Hammers are playing right now, and the way some of the teams above them are struggling, there is a good chance they might avoid the drop.

This might be a move that is best for all parties involved. It is very clear that Disasi does not have a future at Chelsea. Of course, there is an argument that he did not get a fair shake after Mauricio Pochettino left. That is just part of football though.

As for Disasi, he is enjoying a career revival at West Ham United. And at 27 years of age, he has plenty of football ahead of him. This would be the right step for him. Going back to Chelsea would throw his long-term future back in doubt.

Finally, West Ham United would be getting a player who has already proven he can perform for them. Of course, everything depends on whether they are able to avoid relegation or not.
