Jaxson Dart appears to be helping the Giants in their offseason endeavors.

When NFL free agency began on March 9th, the New York Giants were quick to start getting the roster ready for the 2026 campaign. Amid their initial moves was retaining a key piece, and it appears they have quarterback Jaxson Dart to thank for that.

After signing a three-year deal worth $39 million to stay with the Giants, Jermaine Eluemunor joined Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” show on March 10th. As expected, his decision to stay in New York. Eluemunor cited that playing with Dart was a major driving force in his decision making this offseason.

“Jaxson was actually calling me and texting me the entire time, even before free agency. Kept telling me how much he wanted me back and I told Dart before free agency that I wanted to be with him and I waited a long time to play with a guy like that,” Eluemunor said. “I think he’s a really special player.”

Dart had a delayed start to his rookie campaign, beginning the year as a backup to veteran Russell Wilson. Upon taking the reins in Week 3, he managed to throw for over 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns. Based on Eluemunor’s latest comments, it’s clear that many people in and around the Giants are strong believers in Dart and his ability to carry the franchise into the future.

Giants Receive Average Grade for Jermaine Eluemunor Signing

As deals continue to pour in across the NFL, the staff at ESPN has put out grades for each transaction. While Dart was adamant about Eluemunor remaining with the Giants in 2026 and beyond, the team finds itself with a mediocre report card.

In light of his annual salary jumping from around $7 million to $13 million, ESPN gave this signing a B grade. Nonetheless, New York locks down a component offensive lineman for the first full year of the Dart era.

Eluemunor has bounced around the NFL since being a fifth-round pick in 2017, but now has a long-term home with the Giants. While some might not view him as an elite talent, one thing he is is available. Over the last five seasons, Eluemunor has appeared in 15 or more games in four of them. This kind of durability is crucial for the Giants with a young QB taking over full-time under center.

Giants OL Believes He is Among NFL’s Best Players at His Position

During Eluemunor’s interview with Adams, she shined a light on how productive he was for the Giants in 2025. Among the stats she brought up was that his pressure rate was on par with the likes of Penei Sewell and Lane Johnson.

After receiving high praise from Adams, Eluemunor confidently stated that he belongs in the discussion for the best right tackle in the NFL.

“I haben’t shied away from the fact I truly think I’m one of the best right tackles in the league,” Eluemunor said. “I’m just going to continue doing what I’m doing.”
