The Golden State Warriors shared an encouraging update on emerging wing Moses Moody as the young guard continues recovering from a right wrist sprain that has sidelined him for the past three games.

In an official statement Tuesday, the Warriors confirmed that Moody is progressing well in his recovery and has already advanced to on-court activities.

“Warriors guard Moses Moody, who has missed the last three games after suffering a sprained right wrist against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 2, was recently re-evaluated,” the team said. “The re-evaluation indicated that Moody is making good progress and has elevated to on-court work. He will be re-evaluated again later this week.”

The update signals optimism that Moody could return soon as Golden State navigates the latter part of the regular season.

Moses Moody Injury Update: Warriors Wing Progressing After Wrist Sprain

Moody sustained the injury while diving for a loose ball against the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this month. The hustle play, emblematic of Moody’s high-energy style, forced him to leave the game and ultimately miss multiple contests.

The 23-year-old will miss a fourth straight game Tuesday due to the wrist issue, but there is growing optimism that he could return Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves if his recovery continues on its current trajectory.

If Moody remains sidelined, the Warriors could again lean on depth options such as Gui Santos, LJ Cryer and defensive specialist Gary Payton II to fill minutes on the wing.

Still, Moody’s absence has been noticeable given the breakout stretch he was enjoying before the injury.

Warriors Breakout: Moses Moody Emerging as Key Two-Way Contributor

Before suffering the wrist sprain, Moody had been playing arguably the best basketball of his career.

In the Clippers game where he was injured, Moody extended his streak to nine consecutive games scoring in double figures and reached double digits in 20 of his previous 21 contests. The performance underscored his growing importance to the Warriors’ rotation.

During that stretch, Moody averaged 12.2 points per game while shooting 41.1% from three-point range, the second-best mark on the team.

On the season, Moody has appeared in 59 games and is averaging 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists, continuing the upward trajectory he has shown since being selected 14th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.

His improvement has been particularly noticeable since the calendar turned to 2026. Over his last 27 games, Moody has averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists, providing reliable scoring and defensive energy.

Steve Kerr Praises Moses Moody’s Growth and Defense

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has repeatedly praised Moody’s development this season, highlighting both his scoring efficiency and defensive consistency.

“Moses has been brilliant for six weeks,” Kerr said after a February win over the Denver Nuggets. “You know, he’s shooting the lights out … the confidence; he’s maybe been our most consistent performer. His on-ball defense; he’s top of the league against pick-and-roll. And he’s such a great teammate. He’s there for you every night, the way he works. He’s so poised.”

Kerr also pointed to Moody’s physical development as a key factor in his rise.

“I think he’s quicker and stronger,” Kerr added. “You saw the baseline move where he dunked it, ripped through. I think it’s a natural progression for a young guy after three, four years to grow into your body and get a little stronger, a little quicker. So I see him getting past people more now than in the past.”

For the Warriors, the hope is that Moody’s steady approach — combined with his recent breakout — will soon return to the court as Golden State continues its push toward the postseason.
