The Dallas Cowboys didn’t make a play for versatile offensive lineman Brock Hoffman in free agency, which just created an opening for a familiar face to welcome him with open arms.
“Sources: TheSteelers are signing formerCowboys C/G Brock Hoffman to a 1-year, $2.5M deal — reuniting with HC Mike McCarthy,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz wrote on his official X account on Tuesday. “The 26-year-old Hoffman started 14 games over the last two years, proving to be a valuable depth piece at C and both G spots.”
Hoffman played for McCarthy on the Cowboys from 2022 to 2024.
The Cowboys made the decision not to put a tender on Hoffman on March 4.

Hoffman Created Valuable Depth for Cowboys
Hoffman has been the Cowboys’ top option as a substitute on the offensive line the last 3 seasons — a stretch in which he’s played in every regular season game.
In that stretch, he’s also started 12 games, appearing at both guard and center, including 7 starts at center in 2025 as starter Cooper Beebe was out with an injury.

Fourth year veteran Brock Hoffman is listed as Beebe’s backup on the Cowboys depth chart. Hoffman has been with the Cowboys since making the team as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech in 2022. He’s played 37 consecutive regular season games for the Cowboys dating back to 2023, with 9 career starts.”
