LeBron James' status for the Los Angeles Lakers' next game is uncertain following his elbow injury against the Denver Nuggets.

The NBA world can’t but notice and talk about what Bam Adebayo did for the Miami Heat on Tuesday, March 10.

LeBron James, who was set to potentially play a game late on Tuesday night, was tuned in. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar took to social media to react to Adebayo’s historic night.

“BAM BAM BAM 💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” said James on the social media platform X.

Bam Adebayo Has A Monster Night

Facing off against the rebuilding and shorthanded Washington Wizards, Adebayo didn’t mess around in the situation. The Heat center was about his business, and it shows in the numbers.

The veteran center checked in for 42 minutes and was rolling from start to finish.

Adebayo finished the game by going 20-43 from the field. He attempted 43 free throws, scoring 36 points from the charity stripe alone.

In the end, Adebayo finished the game with 83 points. He scored the second-most points in NBA history, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain’s famous 100-p0int showing.

Most points scored in a single NBA game:

1. Wilt Chamberlain – 100 (March 2, 1962) 2. BAM ADEBAYO – 83 (TONIGHT) 3. Kobe Bryant – 81 (January 22, 2006)

Adebayo joins Chamberlain and Bryant as the only players in NBA history to score 80+ points in a game.

Beyond his scoring, Adebayo produced nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks. After a scoring night like that, everything was just a bonus. Adebayo led the Miami Heat to a massive victory over the Wizards. The final score was 150-129.

With that victory, the Heat advanced to 37-29 on the year.

For Adebayo, he broke LeBron James’ record with the most points in a single game for a member of the Heat franchise.

In 2014, LeBron James beat out Glen Rice with a 61-point performance against the Charlotte Bobcats. At the time, James went 22-33 from the field. He also produced seven rebounds and four assists.

Rice’s record of 56 was achieved in 1995. Dwyane Wade got close to the record in 2009 with a 55-point game against the New York Knicks.

As LeBron understands well, records are made to be broken. While James is typically one to do it, he was happy to see one of his competitors make history.
