Every Premier League Big 6 club’s biggest disappointment of the 2025/26 season

The pressure of playing for one of the big boys can get to anyone, or it could simply be down to injuries or a poor fit causing a star to underperform at a top club. Here is the most disappointing player at every Premier League Big Six club this season.

Arsenal: Martin Odegaard

------------------------

The [Arsenal](https://goonernews.com/) captain is one of the best midfielders and playmakers in world football, and when he is healthy and at his best, he can really elevate this team. Problematically, Odegaard has not been healthy since the start of the 2024/25 season, and he has not been at his best in the biggest games.

Viktor Gyokeres has been worse in terms of overall performance on the pitch, but his tactical impact on the team as a true No. 9 has been massive. Meanwhile, it is legitimately debatable if Odegaard has been any better than Eberechi Eze, who himself has been a bit of a disappointment compared his days at Crystal Palace.

Chelsea: Liam Delap

-------------------

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been way too slow to adjust to the Premier League while Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo are borderline disasters in defense, but, for my money, the worst player on Chelsea has been Liam Delap at striker.

Chelsea just bought him to be their next out and out No. 9, but whenever he is healthy enough to play, he looks like he belongs in the Championship. Delap is slow, unskilled, and genuinely unserious as a Chelsea striker. For every big hit their recruitment has, they have one big miss.

Liverpool: Alexander Isak

-------------------------

It is pointless to even discuss the other candidates, because for as many players at Liverpool are underperforming, including Premier League Player of the Season candidates from 2024/25 like Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch, Alexander Isak stands in a class of his own.

Because at least Gravenberch has been good overall, and Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah have their moments as creators. Isak cost well over 100 million pounds and has almost never been healthy – and when he has been on the pitch, he has been horrendous. What makes him stand out even more for negative reasons is the fact that fellow striker signing Hugo Ekitike is going on so well.

Manchester City: Savinho

------------------------

Although Savinho is beginning to show his quality in more recent matches, we can’t ignore just how poorly he started the Premier League season, and many Manchester City fans were wondering why on earth Pep Guardiola and the board tried so hard to stop him from going to Manchester City.

As it stands, Savinho is still well below the others on the pecking order. Antoine Semenyo, Jeremy Doku, and Omar Marmoush are all running circles around him on the wings, and he might actually be lucky he got injured since it could have been him getting sold instead of Oscar Bobb.

Manchester United: Leny Yoro

----------------------------

Obviously, Manuel Ugarte has been Manchester United’s worst player, but I don’t think Man United supporters legitimately had expectations for him. And the same can be said for backup striker Joshua Zirkzee.

Meanwhile, Leny Yoro has been in poor form lately, genuinely struggling as the team’s worst starting center back. Now, the 20 year old has a ton of upside and is still one of the most talented long term plays in the Man United squad, but he is proving to everyone just how raw he is. It is going to take him time before he is a top player.

Tottenham Hotspur: Conor Gallagher

----------------------------------

I think anyone who actually watched Conor Gallagher play for Chelsea and, especially, Atletico Madrid will not be surprised to see how horrendous he has been for Tottenham Hotspur, but it is still laughable to think Spurs overpaid by more than 10 million euros to sign him ahead of Aston Villa.

Calling him a mid table player would be a compliment, because Gallagher has made Spurs, relegation candidates, worse. He can’t create, he can’t pass, he can’t progress the ball, and all he really can do is run like the proverbial headless chicken.
