Royce O’Neale swishes 51-foot 3 at 3rd quarter buzzer as Suns beat Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks guard Kyle Kuzma hit a buzzer-beating 3 to close the first half, but Phoenix Suns guard Royce O’Neale had a hold-my-beer moment with a 51-footer as time expired in the third quarter. The Suns made 24 3s (24 for 51) in a 129-114 win on Tuesday.

O’Neale hadn’t entered the scoring column until the third and hit six of Phoenix’s nine 3s in the quarter for a 100-97 lead.

With 1.9 seconds left until the buzzer sounded, O’Neale got an inbound pass from Jordan Goodwin and saw his shot find nothing but net from the very back edge of the Bucks’ logo.

The Suns (38-27) began the fourth on a 14-2 scoring run to build a 12-point advantage over the Bucks (27-37).

O’Neale had 21 points (on 7-of-11 shooting) and added five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 31 minutes after getting the starting nod.

Jalen Green earlier set the tone of a hot offensive start by making a Bucks defender look real silly on a step-back move. He finished with 25 points (10 for 20) and contributed four rebounds and five assists.

Devin Booker had 27 points with four made 3s and Grayson Allen and Jordan Goodwin combined for 18 points and 40 minutes off the bench in their respective returns from injury.
