Bam Adebayo's 83-point masterpiece is simply a sight to behold.
Miami Heat / Schedule
The Miami Heat superstar earned himself a historic evening on Tuesday, as he powered his team's 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards.
Beyond surpassing the late great Kobe Bryant for the second-most points scored by a player in NBA history, it is worth noting that Adebayo also established several other feats in his epic performance.
Here are some other milestones that Adebayo managed to achieve, which are now written in both the league and Heat record sheets:
Most Free Throws Made in a Game: Adebayo made 36 free throws, breaking the previous record of 28 held by Wilt Chamberlain and Adrian Dantley.
Most Free Throws Attempted in a Game: He attempted 43 free throws, surpassing Dwight Howard's former record of 39.
Most Points in the "Play-by-Play Era" Through 3 Quarters: His 62 points through three quarters tied Kobe Bryant for the most in this era.
Rare Statistical Combination: Adebayo became the only player besides Wilt Chamberlain to record at least 20 field goals and 25 free throws in a single game.
Most Points in the 1st Half: Adebayo's 43-point first half is the second-highest total in a first half since the NBA began tracking digital play-by-play data in 1996, trailing only Karl-Anthony Towns (44 points in 2024).
Most Points in a Quarter: With 31 points in the first quarter, he tied Wilt Chamberlain for fifth-most points registered in a single quarter in NBA history.
Miami Heat Franchise Records
Most Points in a Single Game: He shattered the previous record of 61 points set by LeBron James in 2014.
Most Points in a Single Half: Adebayo scored 43 points in the first half, breaking the franchise record of 31 previously shared by James, Dwyane Wade, and Sherman Douglas.
Most Points in a Single Quarter: He scored 31 points in the first quarter, setting a new team high for any individual quarter.
Free Throw Dominance: He set franchise records for both Free Throws Made and Free Throws Attempted in a single Heat game.
2025–26 NBA Season Highs
Most Points in a Single Game: His 83 points easily surpassed the previous season high of 56 points set by Nikola Jokic on Christmas Day.
Most Free Throws Made & Attempted: He set the season's (and all-time) benchmarks with 36 makes and 43 attempts.
Highest Scoring Quarter: His 31-point first quarter is the highest-scoring individual quarter of the 2025–26 season so far.
Highest Scoring Half: His 43-point first half is currently the highest total for any half in the league this year.
