There were some dismal performances in Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat away to Galatasaray, with Ibrahima Konate enduring a particularly shocking night.
The Reds were so poor in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, with too many players guilty of not turning up.
Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool Echo, GOAL and the TIA readers.
Konate (3.33) has a bad display in him, but this one took the biscuit!
The Frenchman made error after error, one of which resulted in a disallowed goal, and he returned to the poor form of earlier in the season.
Mark Doyle of GOAL described it as a “calamitous” night for Konate, not least “two atrocious attempted clearances” that put his side in danger.

Mohamed Salah (3.83) wasn’t a huge amount better, however, proving to be an anonymous figure and fading “horribly,” according to the Echo‘s Ian Doyle.
Writing for This Is Anfield, Danny Gallagher added that it “feels like another explosion point is fast approaching,” but he can’t blame anyone else currently.
The returning Florian Wirtz (4.05) was also completely ineffective, with Mark Doyle saying he was “guilty of trying to be too clever at times.”
What the stats say
Giorgi Mamardashvili got the highest Liverpool score from FotMob, filling in impressively for Alisson.
That summed up the Reds’ performance.
Mamardashvili made three saves, one of which was brilliantly tipped wide in the first half, and he also made two punches.
Despite this, GOAL’s ratings still put him as a 5 – not sure what game they were watching!

Dominik Szoboszlai has been Liverpool’s Player of the Season, but even he was off the boil, winning only two out of six ground duels.
Jeremie Frimpong and Andy Robertson didn’t win either of their two after coming on!
Virgil van Dijk may not have been at his all-conquering best, but he still made the joint-most defensive contributions on the pitch (13).
