Thiago Silva has remained obsessed with Chelsea since he left Stamford Bridge, and may have sent Todd Boehly and co a message regarding who they should look at next in the managerial market.
There are currently no complaints with Liam Rosenior. After taking over in early January, he has still only been beaten by Arsenal in any competition at his new club.
Joao Pedro’s levels since Rosenior took over are a huge tick in the Englishman’s favour too. He has taken the striker’s game to new heights with his leadership.
Are you convinced by Rosenior yet, Chelsea fans?
His start is almost as good as Jose's!
Thiago Silva hypes up Filipe Luis as promising young manager
Reports at the time of Rosenior’s hire also linked Chelsea to hiring Filipe Luis, who was in charge of Flamengo at the time.
Silva was asked about the news of Luis’ recent exit from the Brazilian side, and he told TNT Sports that he thinks he is ready to take a job for a top European side.

He said: “Did you see the news about Filipe Luis? it made a big impact here in Europe, right? Especially in England, it got a lot of attention because Felipe played at Chelsea. Can you see Filipe Luis is already capable, for example, of coaching here, of coaching a top-tier European team?”
He said: “No doubt about it. No doubt.
“And why did it make an impact in Europe? Because Filipe, despite not winning the Club World Cup, faced the giants and performed very well in every game. He lost, but that’s part of football – winning or losing, right?
“The biggest example, I told a friend of mine the other day, the best example in recent times that I’ve seen, is Vincent Kompany. Kompany got promoted with Burnley, got relegated with Burnley the following year, and was then signed by Bayern Munich. Relegated. Relegated in the Premier League. Then you think, why? Because people didn’t focus on the result – they saw the work. He arrived at Bayern and won the title in his first year. This year he will probably win again.
“So we have to choose what we want to focus on: result or work. Work leads to results. And the result of that single game can go any way – three possibilities: lose, draw, or win. But if you have consistent work, that will likely bring great rewards and major titles in the future. That’s what Filipe had at Flamengo – it wasn’t random, it was work.
“Because besides being a big fan, I’m also a close friend. He would come to my house. We didn’t talk about this publicly to avoid creating anything with fans or social media. We talked a lot. One time, I finished my training – my training was in the afternoon. I called Filipe at six o’clock because we were going to have coffee or something. It was six o’clock. He sent a photo of the Ninho do Urubu (Flamengo’s training ground) parking lot: “Look where I’m leaving from.” I said, “Man, wasn’t training in the morning?” He said, “Training was at 10, I think. I’m leaving now.” People don’t know this.
“Filipe lived Flamengo. Filipe lived Flamengo. And I think, no, I’m sure, that this decision should not have been made in such a disloyal way to this great professional.”
Who are you starting on the left vs PSG?
Chelsea helped cost Luis his job at Flamengo
It had been a very successful tenure for the former left-back at Flamengo, including getting the better of Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea during the Club World Cup.
It has been reported that Luis went silent on the Brazilian side for three days to negotiate with BlueCo, only to find out he was actually being interviewed to take the Strasbourg job and replace Rosenior.
This would have been incredible business for Chelsea to keep up their exciting conveyor belt of managers coming into Stamford Bridge.
Things didn’t work out though, and they will be hopeful that this hasn’t tarnished their relationship with the promising young manager for if they look to him again in the future.
