Last night, the NFL world was flipped upside down with the news that the Baltimore Ravens were backing out of the Maxx Crosby trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The trade between Baltimore and Las Vegas had Crosby going to Baltimore in exchange for two first round picks from the Ravens.
Dianna Russini reported that Crosby failed his physical and the Ravens had backed out of the trade. Now, the world will wait to see what happens next with Crosby. Will he still be a Raider? Will he get traded again? The scenarios are endless at this point.
The Bills had interest in Crosby according to Albert Breer, but the price seemed too high and that’s why the Bills had backed out. While they could easily get back into trade talks for Crosby, there is another edge rusher that the Bills could very well be in the mix for.
Trey Hendrickson is a coveted free agent that is looking to find his next home now that he is out of Cincinnati and Ryan Talbot reported that the Bills “reached out” to Hendrickson. Talbot also gave credit to Draft Diamonds as well. If the Bills do have interest in signing Hendrickson, they may have some new competition now that Baltimore is losing out on Crosby.
Ravens may have just became competition for Bills to land Trey Hendrickson
With Baltimore backing out of the Crosby trade, maybe they will be looking to find another edge rusher that Crosby was supposed to be. It would not be surprising to see them pursue Hendrickson, especially considering the fact that he knows how brutal the AFC North is. Not to mention, taking him from a division rival would be a genius move.
As for the Bills, if they are super serious about getting Hendrickson to come to Western New York, they may have to compete with Baltimore to acquire Hendrickson’s services.
Both Buffalo and Baltimore need help at edge rusher and right now, Hendrickson is the top one on the market by a mile. While he is coming off a hip injury that landed him on the injured reserve, he is still a top player that any team would be lucky to have.
The Crosby fallout just put a bunch of twists into various scenarios that could happen and it could very well affect what Hendrickson does now as he prepares to cash in with his third team.
