Tonight’s juicy tie in the Champions League is Chelsea against PSG, and many pundits have already given their views on the game.
One of them was Thiago Silva, now playing for Porto but already on track to become a manager. He’s clearly been impressed by what he’s seen from Liam Rosenior, who is making an impact on Chelsea’s style already.
Thiago Silva on Liam Rosenior’s instant impact at Chelsea
“Interestingly, watching Chelsea play, you can already see his influence on the team. There’s still a bit of the previous coach, but he’s already introducing some of his own ideas,” the former Blues defender said.
We’d certainly agree with that. Rosenior has only been in charge for two months, and has had very few opportunities to train the squad given the quantity of games. But you can already see some of his tactical ideas taking hold.
The team is less slow in possession, and his use of certain players is markedly different to what we saw under Enzo Maresca.
It will take until the start of next season before he will really feel like he’s had time to get his messages across, but things are promising.
In other news…
The defender also gave his thoughts on a factor that he thinks could play a major role in deciding the game – even more so in the second leg.
Mamadou Sarr isn’t likely to start tonight, but he’s been speaking about what an impact Liam Rosenior has had on him.
