The Baltimore Ravens don't appear to be wasting any time moving on.
They backed out of their agreed-upon trade for Maxx Crosby from the Raiders on Tuesday night. And already they appear to be fast in pursuit of Bengals free agent pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
It wouldn't be the best look for Baltimore, but that isn't the Ravens' concern at the moment. Clearly, they feel they need to improve their pass rush.
If it won't be Crosby, maybe it'll be Hendrickson -- who had 17.5 sacks in 2023 and another 17.5 sacks in 2024 before a contract- and injury-plagued 2025 season.
"All eyes are on the Ravens' next moveāand how hard they go after Bengals pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson," wrote Sports Illustrated's national NFL writer Albert Breer on X on Wednesday morning. "The Colts have kept tabs on him, as have the Eagles and Cowboys. Baltimore quickly pivoting to Hendrickson would only bolster suspicions some teams have."
MORE:Why the Raiders are no longer trading Maxx Crosby to the Ravens
Some of the top pass rushers available as free agents have already signed, including Jaelan Phillips to the Panthers and Odafe Oweh to the Commanders.
Hendrickson, though, has lingered. He likely is pursuing a contract in line or above what Phillips got from Carolina (four years, $120 million), while teams are potentially holding out to pay Hendrickson less than that.
It means that the Ravens may very well have had a sense for how his picture was shaping up as they decided what to do about Crosby's health situation as part of their trade agreement.
There's no way to know for sure why the Ravens pulled out, and it could've been multiple factors.
But the most dramatic follow-up step would be for Baltimore to sign Hendrickson to a big contract. And it appears they're at least considering it.
