One of the unsung heroes from Monday night’s [FA Cup](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-2-2-brentford-player-ratings-as-hammers-win-on-penalties/) win after penalties has been speaking about the work behind the scenes to help pull off that dramatic victory and the effect it will have on the Hammers Premier League form.
**Tomas Soucek,** very much an unsung hero from the London stadium encounter, claims the confidence the side took from overcoming Brentford will spill over into this weekend’s visit of former Champions Manchester City.
The Hammers veteran had one of his finest games in Claret and Blue – which is saying something after 250 plus appearances. Speaking to West Ham’s official web site, Soucek made it clear that the FA cup win can be another stepping stone:
_“..We have to be ready for the challenge back in the Premier League. I believe we have really good momentum, and we’re playing really well at the moment so we’re full of confidence._
_“We know the fans have our back, so even though Manchester City are a great side, we will go into that game looking for the win. Which means only one thing: If Soucek is right, Nuno will **not** be setting his side up looking to park the bus for ninety minutes.
Even without Summerville, the Hammers will be seeking to outscore their opponents rather than strangle the game and settle for a point. Which is somewhat scary against what must be the league’s most prolific attack.
