March 11 – FC Barcelona has taken another step towards the full reopening of the redeveloped Spotify Camp Nou after receiving the first occupation licence from Barcelona City Council for part of the stadium’s next operational phase – taking its current capacity to more than 62,000.

The licence – which covers Phase 1C of the project – will allow the opening of the Gol Nord stand along with several new VIP hospitality areas.

The club said that the ‘Pitch Club’ and ‘Main Hub’ – located in the Tribuna section – are the headline additions to the newest phase of operations, as well as the Mini Hub in the Lateral area.

With those sections now operational alongside the Gol Nord, stadium capacity will rise to 62,652 spectators as Barcelona continues its phased reopening strategy.

The club has also unveiled a new fan zone within the South stand named Gol 1957, a nod to the year the original Camp Nou first opened. Designed as a ‘dedicated animation area’, the section aims to concentrate some of the club’s most vocal supporters to drive atmosphere during matches.

Barcelona confirmed that applications for the new seating passes will remain open until later today, with a notary-supervised ballot to be held in the case that demand exceeds availability.

The club also gifted members who entered a previous draw in October but were unsuccessful a 24-hour priority window to purchase passes as a reward for their sustained interest.

Pass prices for the remaining fixtures of the 2025-26 season range between €140 and €231.

These passes will cover both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League – with Barca set to return to home soil next week in an effort to bypass Newcastle United after they salvaged a 1-1 draw at St James’s Park last night with a late penalty by Lamine Yamal that proved to be the last kick of the game.
