NBA Star Luka Doncic Made History In Timberwolves-Lakers Game

On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Minnesota Timberwolves (at home).

The Lakers won by a score of 120-106.

Luka Doncic went off for 31 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block while shooting 11/24 from the field and 4/12 from three-point range in 35 minutes of playing time.

In addition to his big night, Doncic also made Lakers history.

Ryan Ward of Lakers OnSI wrote: “Per Lakers: Luka Dončić recorded a 31-point, 11-rebound and 11-assist triple-double. The performance marked his sixth 30-point triple-double as a Laker, passing Kobe Bryant (five) for fifth-most in franchise history.”

Doncic (who is in his first full year with the franchise) is averaging 32.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 36.0% from three-point range in 53 games.

He has scored 31+ points in each of the previous three games.

With their win over Minnesota, the Lakers are now 40-25 in 65 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak (and winners of six out of their last ten).

Following the Timberwolves, the Lakers will play their next game on Thursday when they host the Chicago Bulls.

At home, they are 21-12 in 33 games.

Doncic was traded to the Lakers after reaching the 2024 NBA Finals with the Dallas Mavericks.

However, in his first playoff series with the Lakers, they lost to the Timberwolves in the first round (in five games).

The Timberwolves are the fifth seed with a 40-25 record in 65 games.

They have lost two in a row (but won seven out of ten).
