Giants free agency rumor names three guards New York is interested in

The first few days of free agency have come and gone and the New York Giants have yet to address one of their biggest needs, which comes at guard.

The Giants have a pending free agent at the position in starter Greg Van Roten and it isn't clear if he's going to be back or if the Giants are going to go in a different direction.

According to the New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy, a reunion between New York and Van Roten is still on the table, but the Giants are also interested in former Cleveland Browns guard Wyatt Teller and former Baltimore Ravens guard Daniel Faalele.

"The Giants have shown interest in free agents Wyatt Teller and Daniel Faalele, league sources told The Post," Dunleavy reported.

"There also is mutual interest in a reunion with Van Roten, who has played every snap the last two seasons (the only Giant to do so) and has not missed a game due to injury since 2020," Dunleavy added.

Van Roten might be the best bet out of those three options, and for multiple reasons.

For starters, bringing Van Roten back keeps the continuity upfront, which is important for an offensive line. The veteran also posted better blocking numbers than Faalele and Teller last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Van Roten gave up three sacks, 26 pressures and posted grades of 61.2 in run-blocking and 70.1 in pass-blocking.

Teller gave up three sacks, 24 pressures and finished with a 65.7 in run-blocking and 53.1 in pass protection. He also missed four games due to injury and has experienced two down years in a row.

Faalele had four sacks and 30 pressures allowed to go along with PFF grades of 60.1 in pass-blocking and 53.5 in run-blocking.

The biggest concern with Van Roten is he's now 36 years old, so a decline could come quickly.

But given his numbers in 2025, his impressive durability and the continuity-related reason, Van Roten still figures to be New York's best bet of the three players mentioned by Dunleavy.
